Moving to Houston as a Muslim family means months of research. Neighborhoods where the community is concentrated, masjids, Islamic schools, halal food, THE WEATHER! I did all of that before moving from California in 2018, and it took the better part of a year.

I built htxmuslims to make this easier for the next family making the move. And for those of us already here — a way to support the businesses in our community. Not just the halal restaurants, but the mechanics, accountants, doctors, plumbers, barbers, and the hundreds of other Muslim-owned enterprises across the city.
